Santa Barbara Recipes: Everyday Meat Loaf

  • 2/3 c. dry bread, rye
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 c. grated onion
  • 1/8 c. grated green pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. sage
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper

Piquant Sauce:

  • 3 T. brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. catsup
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard

Mix the meat loaf ingredients together and put into a greased pan. Cover with Piquant sauce and bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
