2 c. meat (hamburger or cubed ham)
2 tsp. flour
1 can cream of mushroom or cream of chicken or cream of celery soup
1 1/4 c. milk
2 c. thin sliced potatoes
1 c. thin sliced carrots
1/4 c. minced fresh onions
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper (or substitute Nature’s Seasons for salt and pepper)
Preheat oven to 375°. Brown meat and salt to taste. Remove meat from pan; stir flour into drippings; stir in soup, then milk and onions, blending thoroughly. heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Return meat to pan and mix together. In a large greased casserole (with cover), arrange in layers, starting with about 1/3 of meat mixture, then potatoes, then carrots repeat until all ingredients are used, sprinkling each layer with salt and pepper (or Nature’s Seasons) to taste. Top layer should be of potatoes. Cover and bake 1 hour. Uncover and bake 15 minutes longer.
