Fried Cabbage

1 medium head cabbage, coarsely shredded

2 Tbsp. bacon drippings (or butter)

Salt and pepper to taste

About 40 minutes before serving, in a large skillet or saucepan, melt bacon drippings (or butter) over low heat. Add shredded cabbage; cover and cook until tender (about 30 mutes), stirring occasionally. Add salt and pepper. Makes about 6 servings.
