Elephant Stew 1982: Sugared Walnuts

• 1 lb. English walnut halves
• 1 c. butter
• 1/2 c. light pancake syrup
• sugar

Oven temp. 350°. Heat butter and syrup. Pour heated mixture over nuts and stir. Bake 8-10 min. (until mixture is absorbed and nuts are crisp). Sprinkle with sugar.
